Historic School Refurbishment
Bishop’s Stortford College, founded in 1868, undertook a significant renovation of its historic School House, replacing over 200 original timber Georgian sash windows with bespoke uPVC Ultimate Rose sash windows from the Rose Collection.
Situated in a conservation area, the project required windows that respected the character and heritage of the 19th-century building. The Gothic arched sashes were meticulously crafted with seamless run-through horns and finished in a white woodgrain to match the original Georgian design. Each window was precision-engineered to fit the building’s uneven stone apertures, ensuring both authenticity and functionality.
The Ultimate Rose provided the ideal solution thanks to its blend of traditional aesthetics and modern performance, preserving the charm of the School House while meeting modern standards. With an authentic appearance that mirrors original timber, the windows offer slim sightlines, A-rated energy efficiency, low maintenance, and enhanced security.
The Ultimate Rose preserved the distinctive charm of the School House while incorporating the advantages of modern materials, perfectly suited to the unique requirements of this development.
